Move a Next.js app with Postgres off Vercel
On Vercel, Postgres comes from a separate provider in its Marketplace, like Neon, and the free Hobby plan is for personal, non-commercial use only. On Caster, one button builds your Next.js app and sets up the Postgres database its code uses, with daily backups, in the same account.
Move your app to Caster
- 1Create an account on Caster.
- 2Open Add a project, connect GitHub and choose your Next.js app.
- 3Press "Put it online for me". We'll build your app, set up its database and ask for each key only you have, like one from Stripe.
- 4Ask your agent to copy your data from your old database.
- 5Add your custom domain on your app's Domain block.
Your app sleeps after 30 minutes with no visits, and the next visit wakes it in a few seconds. If it runs background work, we keep it awake for you.
What it costs
There are no per-person seats and no monthly fee. Your first 14 days come with $10 of free credit, then you pay only for what your app and its database use. A spending limit, $25 by default, pauses your projects before your bill goes above it.
